Ali Rowden were named 1st Team All-Great American Conference on Friday, as the conference released its postseason women's tennis awards. Rowden was also named GAC Freshman of the Year.
Phumtip, a native of Bangkok, Thailand, earned her third consecutive 1st Team All-Conference honor. She entered the GAC Tournament with a 9-6 singles record this season, including a 7-6 record at No. 1 singles. Phumtip was also 12-5 overall in doubles play, recording more doubles victories than any other Harding player. In her three-year career at Harding, Phumtip is 32-13 (.711) in singles and 38-13 (.745) in doubles.
Rowden, who hails from Greenbrier, Ark., was Harding's fourth Freshman of the Year in the Lady Bisons' NCAA era (since 1997) and the first since Phumtip was the Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Year in 2011.
Rowden played No. 2 singles for the Lady Bisons and posted an 11-5 record. She was 9-4 in doubles, playing primarily with Phumtip at No. 1.
