AT HARDING
Harding head coach Dr. Greg Harris enters his 24th season as the head coach of the women's soccer team in 2024. Harris also coached the men's team from 2001-10.

Harris took over the Harding soccer programs in 2001. He is a six-time conference coach of the year, including four in the Gulf South Conference and two in the Great American Conference. He has directed the Lady Bisons to 14 postseason appearances in his 22 years as coach. Harris also led the Harding men’s soccer team to postseason appearances in 2007 and 2008.

Harris led the 2016 women’s team to the GAC Tournament championship, overcoming a slow start and a third-place regular season finish in the GAC. The championship win helped secure Harding’s second consecutive berth into the NCAA Tournament in Mankato, Minnesota.

In 2015 Harding overcame an 0-2 start and finished 15-4-2. The Lady Bisons won the GAC regular season and tournament titles. Harris helped lead the 2015 team to the program’s second NCAA Tournament appearance in Mankato, Minnesota.

In 2004, the Harding University women’s team claimed a share of the GSC regular season title. That team went on earn Harding women’s soccer’s first NCAA Tournament berth in Miami Shores, Florida. The Lady Bisons concluded the season ranked 16th nationally.

In his 23-year tenure, Harris has coached seven CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-Americans. He has also coached six D2CCA All-Americans, 105 academic all-conference selections, 91 all-conference selections and 27 all-region selections. The women’s team has won the GAC Sportsmanship Award a conference-record 10 times since 2012.

Each summer, Harris works several prestigious soccer camps, including Duke University, Texas A&M University, UT-Chattanooga and Vanderbilt University. Harris served as a head coach with the Arkansas Olympic Development Program from 2003-15. Harris has been involved on the Olympic Development Program Region III as a region coach from 2009-12 and again in 2017.

PLAYING CAREER
A native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Harris started playing soccer when he was 8 years old. A goalkeeper throughout his playing career, he was all-district, all-region and all-state in high school and went on to play at Queens College in Charlotte, North Carolina. While at Queens, he teamed with another goalkeeper to set a national shutout record, combining to blank 14 of 17 opponents in a season (1991). Harris helped lead Queens College to a NCAA national rankings of 17th in 1991 and 21st in 1992.

EDUCATION
In 1994, Harris came to Harding University to earn his master's degree in the Marriage and Family Therapy program. While at Harding, Harris played soccer for the club team on campus. After completing the degree in 1996, he worked in three different psychiatric hospitals in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Harris then enrolled at the University of Louisiana at Monroe to work on his Ph.D. in marriage and family therapy. He received his degree in the summer of 2006.

FAMILY
Harris is married to the former Anissa Campbell of Omaha, Texas. Greg and Anissa have a daughter, Kadyn and a son Kaynan.
