POTTSBORO, Texas – Playing through rain and 40-degree temperatures, the Harding men's golf team is in sixth place of 13 teams after one round of the Crawford-Wade Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M-Commerce at the Tanglewood Golf Resort.
Harding freshman Blake Chase had the Bisons' low round at 78 and is tied for ninth place. Lewis Jackson and Brandon Cauldwell both shot 81 and are tied at 24th. Bruce McMullen shot 82 and is tied for 32nd, and Ryan Hadash shot 83 and is tied for 38th. Dustin Richter is playing as an individual and shot an 80. He is tied for 20th.
The Bisons first-round score of 322 was just 10 strokes off the 312 shot by tournament leaders Henderson State and St. Mary's. Ben Cuzen of Henderson State and Chase Lindsey of Oklahoma Baptist are tied for the individual lead after shooting 73.
The final 18 holes will be played Tuesday.
