BATESVILLE, Ark. - Harding University freshman
Lewis Jackson shot an even-par 72 in the second round to lead the Bison golf team to a victory over three other teams at the Lyon College Scots Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The event was held at The Course at Eagle Mountain.
It was Harding's first win of the season and the second straight time Harding won the Lyon tournament.
Jackson was three strokes back after an opening round 77, but his round two score tied him with Seth Johnson of Lyon at 149. Jackson won the individual title on the first playoff hole to become Harding's first individual medalist since
Dusty Gourley won the same tournament last season. Jackson's 72 in the second round was his second round of par or better this season.
Harding finished with a two-round total of 606, its third-best tournament score of the season.
Freshman
Ryan Hadash finished third for Harding at 152,
Bruce McMullen and
Dustin Richter tied for fourth at 153, and
Blake Chase and
Brandon Cauldwell were tied for sixth at 154.
