LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Harding women's tennis team used four singles victories to defeat NCAA Division I Southeast Missouri State 4-3 on Saturday at Burns Park.
Coaches agreed before the match to play by NCAA Division I rules, and that decision worked out perfectly for Harding. In Division I, the three doubles matches count for only one point instead of three in Division II.
Harding (22-4) lost all three doubles matches but only fell behind 1-0. The Lady Bisons then won four singles matches to come from behind and earn the win.
Callie Huey (No. 3), Chelsea Hunt (No. 4),
Gina Cielo (No. 5) and
Fabiola Wisnesky (No. 6) all won their singles matches in straight sets.
