CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Harding University's Daniel Kirwa placed fourth and Philip Biwott placed eighth in the 5,000 meters at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Both earned All-America honors as two of the top eight finishers in the event.
Kirwa, who earned his second All-America honor of the weekend and the sixth outdoor All-America honor of his career, finished in 14:12.89. Biwott collected his first outdoor All-America honor, finishing in 14:24.85.
Amos Sang of Abilene Christian, who also won the 10,000 meters, won the 5,000 meters in 14:04.94.
Kiwa placed second in the 10,000 meters Thursday night. With that finish along with the 5,000 meter race Saturday, Harding earned 14 points in the team competition, good for 18th place overall.
