SEARCY – Harding University senior defensive end Jermaine Blanchard was named Honorable Mention Preseason All-America by Consensus Draft Services on Monday.
A native of Memphis, Tenn., Blanchard earned Honorable Mention All-America honors from The Football Gazette last season. He was also 1st Team All-Region and voted 1st Team All-Gulf South Conference.
Blanchard began his junior season as a linebacker but moved to defensive end mid-season. He finished the season with 50 tackles and was Harding's team leader in tackles for loss (9.0) and sacks (5.0).
