Fab Five: Harding Places Five on GSC All-Decade Team

Super Bowl Champion Tank Daniels Named 1st Team

GSC All-Decade Football Team

SEARCY – The Gulf South Conference recently named five Harding football players to its All-Decade Team. Former defensive back and Super Bowl champion Tank Daniels was a 1st Team honoree. Offensive lineman Ross Conn, defensive linemen Tim Love and Floyd Black and linebacker Tim Love earned 2nd Team honors.

Daniels, a native of Clarendon, Ark., played at Harding from 2002-05. He earned 1st Team All-GSC honors three times, All-Region honors three times and All-America honors in 2004 and 2005. As a Bison, Daniels played 43 games and collected 237 tackles, 34.0 tackles for loss and seven interceptions. After his collegiate career, Daniels signed with the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League and won the Super Bowl with the New York Giants in 2008.

A native of Ann Arbor, Mich., Conn's career at Harding spanned the 2005-08 seasons. He earned All-GSC and All-Region honors three times. In 2008, Conn participated in the Cactus Bowl All-Star Game. Conn started all 42 games during his Harding career.

Tim Love of West Point, Miss., played at Harding from 2001-02 and earned 1st Team All-GSC honors both seasons. In 2002, he garnered All-Region honors and played in the Gridiron Classic All-Star Game. In 21 games, Love recorded 130 tackles and 28 tackles for loss. Following his collegiate career, Love signed a free agent contract with the San Diego Chargers.

Tim Black, a native of St. Louis, Mo., played at Harding from 1999-2002 and earned 1st Team All-GSC and 3rd Team All-Region as a senior. He also played in the 2002 Cactus Bowl. In his 42-game playing career, Black made 145 tackles, including 44.5 tackles for loss and 19.0 sacks. He ranks in the Harding top three in career tackles for loss and sacks. Black signed a free agent contract with the Atlanta Falcons in 2002.

A native of Sherman, Texas, Polk played for the Bisons from 2000-03. He took All-GSC and All-Region honors in 2002 and 2003 and 2nd Team All-America honors as a senior. Polk played 42 games in black and gold and recorded a staggering 330 tackles, including 28 tackles for loss. His tackle total is the most by a Harding player in the decade.
