SEARCY – Former Harding University wide receiver Kurt Adams has re-signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League and will be in camp with the team for the 2012 season.
Adams, a native of Searcy, Ark., was a member of the Blue Bombers practice squad for the last half of the 2011 season. Winnipeg played in the 2011 Grey Cup, the CFL's version of the Super Bowl, and lost 34-23 to British Columbia.
Adams played at Harding from 2006-10 and is the Bisons' career leader with 29 touchdown receptions and was third with 2,311 receiving yards.
Another former Bison, defensive back Eddie Russ, also played in the CFL during the 2011 season. Russ appeared in seven games for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, recording five tackles from scrimmage and two special teams tackles. Russ resigned with the Roughriders in November.
