Harding Softball Adds Jessica Romine and Claire Clark as Graduate Assistants

SEARCY – Harding softball coach Phil Berry recently announced the addition of graduate assistants Jessica Romine and Claire Clark, who will join the Lady Bisons for the 2018 season.

Romine is a native of Grand Junction, Colorado, and graduated from Central High School in the top 20 percent in her class in 2011. She played four years of varsity softball at CHS and was a four-year all-conference and All-Western Slope honoree and was named all-state in 2010.

Romine attended Otero Junior College and graduated summa cum laude in 2013. In her two seasons at Otero, she earned NJCAA first-team All-Region IX in 2012 and 2013 and was the 2013 NJCAA Region IX Offensive Player of the Year. She started 114 games at Otero and had a .437 batting average, 79 RBI and 97 stolen bases.

Romine transferred to Colorado Christian University and earned a bachelor's degree in social science in 2015. She earned first-team All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference as a senior and was Colorado Christian's female athlete of the year. In 101 games, Romine hit .347 with 47 RBI.

Romine will be enrolled in Harding's Master of Arts in teaching program and pursue a career in elementary education.

"I am very excited to see what the Lord has in store for me in the coming years as a Lady Bison," Romine said.

Clark is a native of Wynne, Arkansas, and played softball and volleyball at Wynne High School before signing to play collegiately at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She was a pitcher and outfielder for four years at Arkansas earned a bachelor's degree in educational studies with an emphasis in art education.

Clark will also be enrolled in Harding's Master of Arts in teaching program.

"I cannot wait to give back by sharing knowledge about life and softball with athletes currently playing," Clark said.
