SEARCY – Harding junior Ashley Dixon scored 19 points, but the Lady Bisons could not overcome 23 turnovers and fell 84-76 to Missouri-Rolla Saturday night at the Rhodes Field House. UMR outscored Harding 28-12 off turnovers.
Harding (1-1) trailed by as many as 11 in the first half and 39-33 at the break. The Lady Bisons rallied and took the lead 45-44 at the 14:59 mark of the second half, but the Lady Miners scored the next seven points and led the rest of the way.
Dixon hit 6-of-9 from the field, including 5-of-7 from three-point range. Freshman Catherine McMenamy (14 points) and junior Jasmine McClindon (13 points) each scored in double figures for the second straight game.
Harding also faced foul trouble again with three starters fouling out of the game. Three Lady Bisons also fouled out in Harding’s win over Lyon on Thursday.
Junior guard Nicole Dierking led Missouri-Rolla with a career-high 22 points.
Missouri-Rolla (1-0) also outscored Harding 36-14 in the paint.
The Lady Bisons return to action Tuesday, taking on North Alabama in Florence, Ala. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
