Lady Bisons Roll Past Central Baptist, 84-41

ARKADELPHIA, ARK. – Harding received strong performances from its bench Friday as the Lady Bisons cruised past Central Baptist 84-41 at the Ouachita Baptist Invitational. Harding will meet St. Edward’s at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vining Arena.
 
Junior guard Jasmine McClindon, from nearby Hope, Ark., scored a career-high 24 points off the bench to lead Harding. Also contributing as reserves were junior forward Jana Pearson, who had a career-high 10 rebounds, and junior guard Laura Broadwater, who dished out a career-best 11 assists. Her total was the most by a Lady Bison since Emily Prysock set the Harding record with 17 against Northeastern State in 1998.
 
Every Harding player scored in the contest as the Lady Bisons improved to 3-1 on the season. Jacque Fredendall (12 points) and Ashley Dixon (11 points) were also in double figures for Harding. Sophomore Danielle Muniz set season highs with nine points and nine rebounds.
 
Harding led 54-19 at halftime and head coach Tim Kirby rested his starters for most of the second half. The Lady Bisons shot 43% from the field.
 
The Lady Bisons limited Central Baptist to only 28% shooting for the game. The Lady Mustangs hit only 1-of-12 (8%) from three-point range. Junior Chenell Tucker led CBC with 14 points and Carlie Tyus added 13 points and 12 rebounds.
 
Harding dished out a season-best 25 assists in the game and committed a season-low seven turnovers. Central Baptist had only four assists and 20 turnovers.
 
Harding’s bench outscored CBC’s reserves 49-10.
