The Harding Lady Bisons dominated early and never looked back, defeating Arkansas Baptist 97-53 Monday night at the Rhodes Field House. With the win Harding improved to 6-2 on the season, and the Lady Buffaloes dropped to 1-8.
Jasmine McClindon led the impressive Harding offense with 24 points, matching her career high. Catherine McMenamy also tied her career best with 20 points. Kinsey Tucker recorded a double-double with 14 points and a career-high 10 assists. Channing Gordon scored 15 points to lead the Lady Buffaloes.
The game opened with Harding breaking out to a 9-2 lead. Arkansas Baptist cut the lead to only four, but that was as close as they would come to the Lady Bisons. In the first half, the Lady Bisons shot an even 50 percent on the floor and headed to the locker room at halftime with a 48-24 lead.
The second half continued much like the first for Harding. The Lady Bisons scored 49 points in the half to secure the win.
Harding’s offense was impressive all night. The Lady Bisons’ bench scored 35 points. Harding also enjoyed an impressive 31 points off of fast break opportunities.
The Lady Bisons’ next game will be Saturday, Dec. 10, when they take on Lyon College in Batesville, Ark. at 4 p.m.
