Poor Shooting Dooms Lady Bisons in 53-46 Loss to OBU

SEARCY – Harding shot only 26% from the field and misfired on 15 three-point attempts, falling 53-46 to Ouachita Baptist in Gulf South Conference women’s action Monday at the Rhodes Field House.
 
Harding (8-9, 0-6) dropped its sixth straight conference game and shot less than 30% for the third time this season.
 
Ouachita Baptist (14-3, 3-3) won for the third time in its last four trips to Searcy. The Lady Tigers shot 39% in the game and outrebounded Harding 40-34.
 
Despite their cold shooting, the Lady Bisons trailed only 29-23 at the break. The Lady Tigers used a 7-0 run beginning at the 8:17 mark of the second half to build their advantage to 47-33 with 6:27 left. Harding got no closer than six the rest of the way.
 
Junior Jasmine McClindon was the only Harding playing in double figures with 13 points. Sophomore Jacque Fredendall had eight points and tied a career high with 13 rebounds. She also set a new career mark with a team-high five steals.
 
Sophomore guard Lindsey Dooley led OBU with 13 points, and Princella Smith scored 10 before leaving midway through the second half with an apparent knee injury.
 
Harding is back in action Thursday night on the road. The Lady Bisons travel to Russellville to meet Arkansas Tech at 5:30 p.m. at the Tucker Coliseum.
