MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Lady Bisons pressed forward to another Gulf South Conference win Thursday night against Arkansas-Monticello. Harding won in three games for the 16th time this season with games scores of 30-26, 30-15, and 30-24. Freshman Manuela Nesheva led the match with 16 kills and a .348 attack percentage for the Lady Bisons.
Harding has an 18-5 overall record and a 9-0 conference record. Arkansas-Monticello dropped to 14-9 overall and 4-5 in conference play.
The Cotton Blossoms hit only .081 for the match and totaled 34 kills. They blocked 12 attacks and had 36 digs. Harding accumulated 52 kills and a .270 hitting percentage as well as 55 digs and 46 assists.
Katherine Taju led Arkansas-Monticello with 14 kills and Maegan Martin led with 23 assists.
The Lady Bisons take a break from conference play with a tournament at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Ark. Slated for the weekend are Emporia State, Pittsburg State, Washburn and Southwest Baptist. Matches begin Fri., Oct. 13 at noon.
