Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Lady Bisons came up empty at the first day of the Henderson State Classic. Harding dropped a match to Emporia State in four games with scores of 30-25, 25-30, 30-25, 30-18. Pittsburg State then swept HU 30-28, 30-27, and 30-25. Harding dropped to 18-7 overall.
Harding’s Katie Westmoreland totaled 41 kills on the day (20, 21) and led the Lady Bisons in hitting percentage in both matches. Tiffany Morrison had two doubles-doubles with 15 kills and 13 digs against Emporia State and 14 kills and 10 digs versus Pittsburg State. Harding setter Leah Tepe notched 55 assists in both matches.
The Emporia State Hornets out-blocked the Lady Bisons 23 to five and improved to 12-12 on the season. Arica Shepard led the Hornets with 15 kills and 16 digs.
Pittsburg State hit .328 against Harding and had two players with 17 kills each. Pamela Cartegena and Klaudia Grelowska led the Gorillas with Grelowska hitting .600 for the match. PSU improved to 16-9 overall.
The Lady Bisons take on Washburn and Southwest Baptist Sat., Oct. 14 for the last day of the Henderson State Classic. Matches start at 11:00 a.m.
