Lady Bisons End Regular Season with Perfect 12-0 GSC Record

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Harding Junior Meredith Rosenbaum had a career high 37 digs in the Lady Bisons’ victory over Ouachita Baptist tonight to secure a perfect 12-0 Gulf South Conference record for the 2006 regular season. Harding had five players with double-digit digs and four players with more than 10 kills in the 3-1 win over the Tigers. Game scores for the match were 23-30, 30-15, 30-18, 30-12. The Lady Bisons will go into the conference tournament with a 22-8 overall record while the Tigers fell to 15-13 and 7-5 in conference play.
 
The 2006 squad joined the team from 2004 as Harding’s only seasons with perfect conference records.  
 
Harding was led by senior Tiffany Morrison with 21 kills and 10 digs. Three other Lady Bisons joined Morrison in double-doubles – Katie Westmoreland had 14 kills and nine digs while Katelin Parks totaled 12 kills and 25 digs and Leah Tepe notched 60 assists and 15 digs. Rosenbaum’s 37 digs was a career high and also ranks third in Harding’s match records.
 
As a team, the Lady Bisons totaled 67 kills on 212 attempts (.226), 112 digs, and out-blocked the Tigers 7-to-5.
 
Ouachita Baptist also had five players with 10 or more digs including Becky Cunningham with 31. Breanne Garrett led the team with 14 kills and Raichel Settle followed up with 12 kills and 24 digs. The Tigers hit .112 for the match with 53 kills and 104 digs.
 
The Lady Bisons have the GSC Tournament ahead of them with their first match on Fri., Nov. 3 in Florence, Ala. at North Alabama’s campus.
