Big Second Half Lifts Lady Bisons over Alabama-Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, ALA. - Harding had five players score more than 10 points as the Lady Bisons defeated Alabama-Huntsville 90-70 on Saturday in non-conference action. Harding scored 55 points in the second half.

Harding (2-1) finished its three-game season-opening run against Gulf South Conference East Division opponents by shooting 49 percent from the field and draining 12 three-pointers against Alabama-Huntsville (1-3).

Senior Jasmine McClindon led Harding in scoring with 17 points, followed by freshman Kelsea Lyda with 16. Lyda hit 4-of-8 from three-point range. Fellow freshman Kaitlin May scored 14 points and added eight rebounds, seven assists, and two steals. Kinsey Tucker scored 13 points and Catherine McMenamy had 12.

Jessica Russell scored 19 points to lead Alabama-Huntsville, which shot only 5-of-28 (19 percent) from three-point range.

Harding plays its home opener Monday at the Rhodes Field House against Williams Baptist. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m.
