SEARCY – Patrick Andrepont and Rick Hamilton each had 20 points and all 14 Harding players scored as the Bisons defeated Ecclesia, 109-50 on Tuesday at the Rhodes Field House. The 59-point victory was the second largest in school history.
Harding (3-1) won its ninth straight non-conference home game and gave Ecclesia (1-10) its sixth straight loss. The first meeting between the two schools was Harding’s largest victory since a 105-44 win over Hillsdale Baptist in 1996.
Ecclesia, a new college located in Springdale, Ark., is in its first season of intercollegiate competition.
The Bisons shot 51 percent in the first half and led 55-26 at halftime. Ecclesia shot only 24 percent in the second half and made only three of their 17 three-point attempts in the game.
Harding’s bench scored 55 points, and every Bison played at least eight minutes.
Bison sophomore Steven Barnett scored six points and added six rebounds and a career-high nine assists, eight in the first half.
Harding junior forward Matt Hall scored 15 points despite playing only 17 minutes. Junior Brian Howard added 10 points.
The Bisons play the third game of their current five-game home stand Friday against Texas College.
