SEARCY - Harding junior forward Matt Hall scored 21 points to lead five players with 10 or more points as the Bisons cruised to a 94-71 victory over Texas College on Friday at the Rhodes Field House. The win was Harding's third straight during its five-game home stand. The Bisons continue play at the Rhodes on Saturday against North Alabama. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
Harding (4-1), led by 18 first half points from Patrick Andrepont, held a 56-36 lead at the break. Texas College (1-1) cut the margin to 10 with a 12-2 scoring run to open the second half. Hall drained a three-pointer to end the streak, and the Bisons led by 10 or more the rest of the way.
The Bisons had solid production off the bench with junior guard Rick Hamilton scoring 14 points. Cole Kee and Brian Howard added 11 each. Harding's bench outscored Texas College's reserves 40-12. Junior center Jacob Thies grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds and sophomore guard Steven Barnett dished out nine assists for the second straight game.
Rian Powell scored a game-high 24 points for Texas College, hitting all nine of his free throws. Junior Mike Dale, a transfer from Southern Illinois, scored 18 points, but shot only 8-of-21 from the field.
Hall's 21 points gave him 1,061 career points, moving him past former teammates Lonnie Smith and Chad Ware into 22nd all-time at Harding.
