SEARCY, Ark. - Catherine McMenamy and Kinsey Tucker each scored 14 points as the Harding Lady Bisons defeated the Alabama-Huntsville Lady Chargers 76-65 at the Rhodes Field House on Saturday night.
Harding improved to 5-1 with the victory, and Alabama-Huntsville fell to 2-5.
The Lady Chargers’ Julie Richardson closed Harding’s lead to 26-20 with 8:04 remaining in the first half before Harding found its stride, closing out the half on a 15-4 run to lead 41-24 at halftime.
Harding led by as many as 22 points early in the second half, but Alabama-Huntsville rallied to cut the lead to just four points with six minutes remaining in the game. Kaitlin May helped reestablish the Lady Bisons’ lead by scoring five consecutive points to give Harding a 67-58 lead. May finished with 10 points, six rebounds and six assists.
Julie Richardson scored a game-high 24 points for Alabama-Huntsville with 16 of her points coming in the second half.
The Lady Bisons will play Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. against Montevallo at Montevallo, Ala., before returning to Searcy for the next home game on Dec. 14.
