Bison Tennis Wins Third Straight

SILOAM SPRINGS, ARK. – The Harding men’s tennis team swept the six singles matches and cruised to an 8-1 victory over John Brown on Thursday. It was the Bisons’ third straight win overall and 26^th straight over the Golden Eagles.

Harding (8-2) had a 2-1 lead following the doubles matches. The Bisons’ No. 2 doubles team of Ethan Bryant and Ryan Roberts improved to 4-0 as a duo with an 8-3 victory. Enrique Mendoza and Ross Carter collected an 8-3 triumph at No. 3 doubles in their first pairing of the season.

The Bisons won four of the six singles matches in straight sets. Roberts picked up his team-leading seventh singles victory with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of Austin Phillips at No. 2 singles. Brett Hoch won his fifth straight at No. 6, easily downing Peter Thulson 6-1, 6-1.

Harding is back in action Saturday against Rhodes College of Memphis. The teams will play at Hendrix College’s indoor facility in Conway, Ark.
