CLEVELAND, MISS. – The Harding men’s tennis team had its seven-match winning streak snapped Monday with a 7-2 loss to 26th-ranked Delta State in a non-conference contest. The two teams play the official Gulf South Conference match in Searcy on April 18.
Delta State, ranked No. 4 in the NCAA II South Region, won all three doubles matches by 8-3 scores to take a quick 3-0 lead.
Harding, No. 7 in the region, picked up two singles victories. Ryan Roberts extended his personal eight-match winning streak with a three-set win at No. 2. Brett Hoch also ran his streak to eight straight with a 7-6, 6-2 win at No. 6.
Harding’s record fell to 15-4 overall, while Delta State improved to 9-10.
