Elliott Wins No. 999 as Lady Bison Tennis Downs SAU

Coach David Elliott will go for career win No. 1000 on Tuesday.

SEARCY – Harding head tennis coach David Elliott earned his 999^th career victory Monday as the Lady Bisons defeated Southern Arkansas 9-0. The Bisons and Lady Bisons both play two matches at the Harding Tennis Courts on Tuesday to give Elliott four chances for his 1,000^th win. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has record of only three other coaches with 1,000 wins.

The Lady Bisons improved to 16-4 overall and 2-1 in the Gulf South Conference win the victory. It was Harding’s 12^th shutout win of the season. Southern Arkansas dropped to 3-14 overall and 0-2 in the GSC.

Harding, ranked No. 7 in the NCAA II South Region, won all but four games in doubles and the closest singles match was Alicia Williams’ 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 1.
