Harding Drops Last of Series to Christian Brothers

SEARCY, Ark. - The Harding baseball team tied the game at five with Christian Brothers in the bottom of the sixth inning but the Buccaneers took advantage of an error in the eighth and went ahead to win the game, 9-6. The game at Jerry Moore Field was the last of the three-game series with CBU. The Bisons dropped to 17-21 overall and 3-12 in conference action while the Bucs improved to 21-13 and 10-8 in the GSC.

Leading the Bisons on offense was Adam Darby with a solo homerun, his fourth on the season and the team's seventh. Bo Whitaker and Ryan Moody joined Darby with two hits each.

Christian Brothers was plagued with errors late in the game but made up for the miscues with timely hits. Mark Foster had three hits and two RBI for the Bucs and Rocky Escajadillo added three RBI from a triple.

John Dausch earned the win for the Bucs with three innings of relief and three strikouts. Brian McCrackin (1-5) took the loss for the Bisons giving up three hits and no earned runs. Kenny Barnett started for Harding and pitched 5.2 innings with three strikouts.

The Bisons will take a break from conference play with a doubleheader versus Lyon in Batesville, Ark., on Tues., Apr. 11 at noon.
