Volleyball Head Coach Keith Giboney Wins 200th

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Harding’s head volleyball coach Keith Giboney secured his 200th career win Saturday at the Alabama-Huntsville Tournament as the Lady Bisons swept Valdosta State and UAH, 3-0. Giboney is in his eighth season as a collegiate head coach, all at Harding. The Lady Bisons improved to 8-3 with the two wins while the Blazers fell to 4-9 and the Chargers to 3-9.
 
Valdosta State struggled throughout the match with game scores of 30-10, 30-24, and 30-15. The Chargers also had a tough time handling the Lady Bisons with scores of 30-23, 30-28, and 30-14.
 
Harding’s offense came together hitting .378 in both matches. The Lady Bisons more than doubled VSU’s kills with 57 and had twice as many assists with 48.
 
Lady Bison Manuela Nesheva stood out from the pack hitting .500 against VSU and .429 against UAH with a total of 32 kills. Junior Katelin Parks had a match high 18 kills in the second match and 15 versus the Blazers. Sophomore Leah Tepe had all but eight of Harding’s 101 assists in the matches. Kristen Wengert totaled 13 kills and 11 digs for UAH and was the only player to total more than 10 digs or kills against the Lady Bisons Saturday.
 
The Lady Bisons begin Gulf South Conference competition Tues., Sept. 12 versus Christian Brothers in Memphis, Tenn. CBU came away from the UAH Tournament 2-2 and 7-5 overall this season.
