Harding Volleyball Falls to Missouri Southern

JOPLIN, Mo. – The Lady Bison volleyball team ended their seven match winning streak Saturday morning with an 0-3 loss to Missouri Southern State. The Lions won the close games with scores of 30-27, 30-26, 30-27. The non-conference loss moved Harding to 12-4 while the Lions improved to 17-2 overall.
 
Harding totaled 54 kills, 53 assists and 57 digs. Missouri Southern pounded out 49 kills, 42 assists, and twice as many blocks as the Lady Bisons with 10. Harding fell short with 11 service errors.
 
Freshman Manuela Nesheva had a match high 20 kills for Harding with Katelin Parks and Tiffany Morrison right behind with 14 and 13, respectively. Parks notched her first double-double with 10 kills. Leah Tepe led with 51 assists.
 
Tessa Woods and Ashley Mehrer led the Lions with 11 kills  and five block assists each.
 
The Lady Bisons return to Gulf South Conference action Tues., Sept. 26 at Henderson State in Arkadelphia, Ark. The match is set to start at 7:00 p.m.
