Lady Bisons Win Two Matches

DURANT, Okla. – The Harding volleyball team got back on the winning track today at the Bloomer Sullivan Gym with two victories over Texas A&M-Commerce and Southeastern Oklahoma State. The Lady Bisons improved to 5-2 overall while the TAMU-C Lions dropped to 3-7 and the SOSU Savage Storm fell to 6-4.
 
The first match was dominated by the Lady Bisons in three quick games. Scores were 30-23, 30-24, and 30-20. Texas A&M-Commerce struggled on offense with twice as many hitting errors (24) as Harding. Senior Tiffany Morrison led the Lady Bisons with 13 kills followed by Katelin Parks and Katie Westmoreland with 12 kills each. Jackie Orr matched Morrison with 13 kills for the Lions. Leah Tepe notched her fourth double-double this season for Harding with 41 assists and 14 digs while teammate Meredith Rosenbaum collected 20 digs.
 
Harding took control of the second match early and kept it for the entire match with scores of 30-18, 30-23, and 30-22. The Lady Bisons hit .277 for the match and had 59 kills with the Savage Storm gathering only 38 kills and hitting .096. Parks led the Lady Bisons with 17 kills and Rosenbaum added 19 digs. Southeastern Oklahoma was led by Olivia Franceskini with 13 kills.
 
The Lady Bisons travel to Huntsville, Ala. over the weekend for the UAH Tournament. Harding faces West Georgia and West Alabama on Fri., Sept. 8 and Valdosta State and Alabama-Huntsville on Saturday.
