Lady Bisons Clinch Tournament Berth

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Harding's Manuela Nesheva led the Lady Bisons to their seventh Gulf South Conference win with a 3-0 victory over Arkansas Tech on Thursday night. Nesheva had 22 kills and only three errors (.413) as Harding won 30-12, 30-22, and 30-21. The Lady Bisons improved to 20-8 overall and 7-1 in GSC play while the Golden Suns dropped to 20-11 and 6-3. The win clinches a berth in the Gulf South Conference Tournament for the Lady Bisons.

 

Harding hit .336 for the match and had three players with double-digit kills – Nesheva with 22, Shellie Rummer with 12 and Katelin Parks with 10. Nesheva had a double-double adding 12 digs. Leah Tepe also had a double-double with 50 assists and 18 digs. Meredith Rosenbaum had a team-high 17 digs.

 

Arkansas Tech had a dismal .109 hitting percentage with only 35 kills. The Golden Suns were led by Dana Florian with 12 kills and four total blocks.

 

Harding will play in the Gulf South Tournament scheduled for Nov. 9-10 at the GSC-East Division winner's school. Henderson State also has a record of 7-1 in conference play.

 

The Lady Bisons will play next at Christian Brothers on Tues., Oct. 23 in Memphis, Tenn. The match will start at 7 p.m.
