Box Score

SEARCY - Freshman Lakyn Garrison scored a team-high 18 points as the Lady Bisons took an early lead and cruised to a lopsided 95-48 victory over the York Lady Panthers at Rhodes Field House at the Harding Classic. The 47-point win Friday night was the largest margin of victory for Harding since defeating Arkansas Baptist 107-38 in 2004.

Garrison hit a three-pointer to give Harding an 8-5 lead four minutes into the game, and the Lady Bisons never trailed again. The Wickes, Ark., native shot a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point range and scored all her points in the first half.

Sophomore Kelsea Lyda scored a pair of free throws to cap a 17-2 Harding run, and the Lady Bisons led 30-11 with 5:51 left in the first half.

Harding (4-2) continued to pull away in the final minutes of the half and took a 52-22 lead into halftime. Harding led by as many as 56 points in the second half.

York (2-6) was often a victim of its own mistakes as Harding scored 45 points off 32 Lady Panther turnovers. Harding collected a season-high 21 steals as a team.

Eleven players scored for Harding, and four players scored more than 10 points. Lyda finished with 14 points, and senior Kristen Donnell scored a career-high 10 points. Junior Catherine McMenamy scored 15 points and finished with a career-high seven assists.

The Lady Bisons have scored 90 or more points three times this season, matching the number of games Harding scored 90 or more all of last season.

Kaylena Anderson was the only player to score more than 10 points, leading York with 14 points.

The Harding Classic will continue Saturday as the Lady Bisons will face Alabama-Huntsville, a member of the Gulf South East Division at 5:30 p.m. York will play Ouachita Baptist at 1 p.m.
