HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Harding baseball team rallied back to win the fourth game of the series against Alabama-Huntsville after dropping the first three. The Bisons lost the first game of the doubleheader Sunday, 14-7 and won the second game, 8-1. Harding improved to 11-5 after the weekend and the Chargers dropped to 10-6.
Harding managed 11 hits in the first game but gave up six hits in the fourth inning alone to score seven Charger runners and the Bisons could not recover. Three UAH players had three hits each in the first game. Ryan Moody had three hits for the Bisons to lead the team. Even with four Harding errors, only one of Alabama-Huntsville's runs was unearned.
Corbin Holland (3-0) captured the win for the Chargers and Jeff Davis dropped to 3-1 with the loss for the Bisons.
The Bisons kept the bats hot in the second game with 10 hits while holding the Chargers to only two hits. Four of Harding's eight runs were earned.
Michael Skinner (1-1) notched his first win this season for a complete game of work including five strikeouts and no earned runs. Andrew Reeves (2-1) suffered the loss for the Chargers. Harding's Bo Whitaker had a game-high three hits in the second game and Moody added two to his already successful day.
The Bisons return home to begin a 17-game homestand in the month of March. Harding will face Waldorf on March 2 for a doubleheader to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Jerry Moore Field.
