SEARCY, Ark. – The Harding baseball team scored 14 runs in the fifth inning in game one of the doubleheader against Central Baptist. The Bisons won the first game, 16-1 and the second game, 9-2 to secure Harding's third 30-win season in it's history (49 seasons). The Bisons improved to 30-19 overall while the Mustangs dropped to 9-22.

Harding's 14 runs were the most in one inning since joining the NCAA in 1997. Central Baptist's five errors in the inning helped the Bisons cross the plate as not one of the 14 runs were earned. Devin Watts singled in Dare Saul and Ryan Moody for the first two runs in the game in the bottom of the first inning.

The Bisons had 12 hits in game one and committed only one error. Jeff Davis (5-2) claimed the win for Harding with five innings of work including four strikeouts. Shiloh Knoner took the loss for the Mustangs, allowing six runs, two earned.

Central Baptist had the only error of the second game and managed five hits. The Bisons had six hits, each by different batters. Bo Whitaker came away with three RBI in game two from an inside-the-park homerun. Gilbert Tellez (1-2) got his first win of the season with seven strikeouts and no walks. Justin Corbitt took the loss for the Mustangs after allowing seven of Harding's nine runs, all earned.

Devin Watts led the Bisons going 3-for-6 at the plate with seven RBI in the combined games. Six other Bisons had two hits each on the day.

Tad Hill led the Mustangs with two hits and an RBI.

Harding gets back to Gulf South Conference action this weekend with a doubleheader at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, against Arkansas-Monticello at Jerry Moore Field. The Bisons will then play a single game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
