Box Score - North Alabama

FLORENCE, Ala. – Harding won a game each against Barry and North Alabama at the North Alabama Crossover but lost both matches Saturday. The Lady Bisons dropped a 3-1 loss to Barry. Harding stayed close with the Buccaneers in every game with scores of 30-27, 30-28, 26-30, 32-30. Barry improved to 5-7 overall. Harding then lost to North Alabama with scores of 36-34, 26-30, 30-25, 30-28. Harding fell to 10-6 and the Lions improved to 7-8 overall.

Senior Meredith Rosenbaum had her fourth 30+ digs match this season with 31 digs against the Buccaneers. Manuela Nesheva led the team in kills once again with 14 and also added 15 digs. Nesheva has led the team in kills in all but one match this season. Leah Tepe had 42 assists, 13 digs, and three service aces.

Neither team hit over .125 for the match. The Lady Bisons had six blocks to the Buccaneers' nine.

Against the Lions, Nesheva had 26 kills and 15 digs. Rosenbaum led again with 26 digs. Freshman Emily Tate had a season-high 19 digs against North Alabama. Tepe had another double-double with 54 assists and 14 digs.

North Alabama's key to success was its blocking with 19.5 blocks against the Lady Bisons. UNA's Whitney Sanders was in on 13 of those blocks while teammate Danielle Palasak led the team with 23 kills.

The Lady Bisons begin Gulf South Conference play on Tues., Sept. 18 in Magnolia, Ark. against Southern Arkansas. The match is set to start at 7 p.m.
