SEARCY, Ark. – Harding sophomore Manuela Nesheva had a phenomenal day at the Lady Bison Classic on Saturday, as she pounded out 29 kills in the three-game win over Eastern New Mexico and a career-high 35 kills in the 3-0 victory against Missouri Southern. The Lady Bisons came back from losing to MSSU last weekend in a close five-game match and brought revenge on the Lions with game scores of 30-23, 30-22, and 30-25.
Harding improved to 9-3 overall while the ENMU Zias dropped to 2-11 and the Lions fell to 9-4.
Nesheva's 10.67 kills per game (on the day) led the Lady Bison offense and Meredith Rosenbaum handled the defense with 8.5 digs per game with her sixth 20+ dig match this season (32nd career). Leah Tepe had her sixth 50+ assist match this season with 57 against Missouri Southern. Tepe also managed her sixth double-double this season with 49 assists and 18 digs versus Eastern New Mexico.
Harding had its third-highest hitting percentage this season with.336 against Missouri Southern. The Lady Bisons also raked in 92 digs in the match against ENMU.
Ashlee Russell led the Lions with a double-double (12 kills, 12 digs) against HU. Grace Brandt grabbed the Zias' only double-double with 30 assists and 13 digs.
Harding will play Lyon in Batesville on Tues., Sept. 11 at 7:00 p.m.
