HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Harding sophomore midfielder Connor Galloway scored two goals and junior goalkeeper James Thurmond recorded the Bisons' second straight shutout as Harding defeated Alabama-Huntsville 4-0 in Gulf South Conference men's soccer play Sunday at Charger Field.

The shutout came only two days after Harding shutout Delta State 2-0 for its first GSC victory of the season. Sunday's game marked the first time Harding shutout consecutive GSC opponents since 2002 and the first time in program history with consecutive road shutouts.

Harding is 5-8-1 overall and 2-2-0 in the GSC. The Bisons' two wins ties a program record for conference victories in a season. Alabama-Huntsville fell to 1-9-2 overall and 0-1-1 in conference.

Following a scoreless first half, Galloway scored his fifth goal of the season less than two minutes after halftime on an assist from freshman Phillip McCormick.

In the 65th minute Galloway netted his second of the game and sixth of the season with a penalty kick. It was Harding's second penalty kick of the season and the first of Galloway's career.

With the game well in hand, Harding added two late goals. Senior midfielder Odie Guzman, who went the first 55 games of his career without a goal, scored for the second straight game in the 78th minute. Sophomore Moses Rotich added his third of the season in the 82nd minute.

Thurmond had five saves for the Bisons, three in the second half, for his second career shutout.

Harding's four-goal margin was its second-most decisive blanking on the road in program history. The Bisons shutout Lyon 5-0 in 2006.
