SEARCY—The Harding Bisons and Northeastern State combined for five goals in the final 20 minutes of Friday's match, but Northeastern State struck last. Ryan Evans scored a game-winning goal in the second minute of overtime to give the RiverHawks a 4-3 victory at First Security Stadium.

The overtime loss was Harding's second in school history and first since 2004. The Bisons are 4-2-4 all-time in overtime.

Harding (0-3) led early when freshman Phillip McCormick headed in a goal off a throw in by senior Carter Truax in the sixth minute. Anthony Dingledine tied the score for Northeastern State less than a minute later with a header on a cross from Alex Novoa. Only five shots were taken by either team in the first half, and the score was tied 1-1.

Dustin Lyons scored on a breakaway up the right side to give Northeastern State the lead in the 73rd minute. Harding tied the game 2-2 when senior Odie Guzman passed downfield to sophomore Moses Rotich, who scored his first career goal on a breakaway in the 82nd minute. The Bisons took the lead a minute later: Truax' shot was deflected off Northeastern State goalkeeper Brendon Lindsey, and senior Colby Wilson kicked in the rebound.

Unfortunately for Harding, Northeastern State (1-2) tied the game on an own goal with three minutes remaining in regulation. The RiverHawks' momentum continued into the overtime period as Evans scored the game winner on a through ball from Robert Yang.

Harding has scored three goals in two of its three losses this season.
