SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team starts the second half of Gulf South Conference play Thursday hosting Southern Arkansas at 7 p.m, in the Rhodes Field House. The Lady Bisons are 18-3 overall and 5-1 in the GSC West Division.
The first half of the conference season is over and Harding is tied with Henderson State at the top of the West Division standings. Both teams have a 5-1 record in conference play. The winner of the West Division is slated to host the GSC Tournament come Nov. 13th.
Harding leads the series over Southern Arkansas, 33-27. When the two teams met earlier this season, The Lady Bisons swept the Lady Muleriders, 3-0.
Harding is led by senior outside hitter Manuela Nesheva who is averaging 4.50 kills per set, ranking her second in the GSC and fifth in NCAA Division II. The Lady Bisons defense is led by junior Emily Tate who averages 4.72 digs per set, ranking her second in the GSC.
The Lady Muleriders (1-25, 0-6 GSC West) are still looking for their first GSC victory this season. Danielle Sneed leads Southern Arkansas in offense averaging 2.50 kills per set. The Lady Muleriders defense is led by Crystal Roberts who is averaging 4.23 digs per set.
