SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team continues Gulf South Conference play Tuesday traveling to Monticello, Ark., to face Arkansas-Monticello at 7 p.m. Harding looks to extend their winning streak to 14 games in the match. The Lady Bisons are 16-2 on the season and 3-0 in the GSC West Division.
The Lady Bisons have an 8-0 record against the Lady Blossoms. Harding defeated Arkansas-Monticello in both matches last season by a score of 3-2 and 3-0.
Senior outside hitter Manuela Nesheva became Harding's all-time kill's leader last week with 1,886 kills in her career. She surpassed Kate Kennedy (2001-04) who had 1,858. Nesheva leads the Lady Bisons averaging 4.34 kills per set, ranking her second in the GSC and 11th in the NCAA Division II.
Sophomore Emily Tate leads the Lady Bisons defense averaging 4.34 digs per set. Tate is averaging 5.90 digs per set in the three GSC games this season.
Arkansas-Monticello has three players averaging over two kills per set. Leading the way is senior middle blocker Sara Kindred who is averaging 2.50 kills per set. Junior Stephanie Hatten leads the Lady Blossoms defense, averaging 3.11 digs per set.
