Volleyball Travels to Henderson State on Thursday for Key Matchup


GSC Match of the Week release

SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team travels to Arkadelphia, Ark., on Thursday to face Henderson State in Gulf South Conference Match of the Week. Both teams are 4-0 in the GSC West Division. Harding heads into the match with a 14 game winning streak and a 17-2 overall record.

Harding has the advantage in the series, leading 36-21. The Lady Bisons have won the last three meetings against the Lady Reddies. It is the fourth time the two teams have been undefeated when they met in conference play.

Harding is led by senior Manuela Nesheva who is averaging 4.46 kills per set, ranking her second in the GSC and sixth in NCAA Division II. Nesheva also averages 2.43 digs per set. Harding's defense ranks first in the GSC by holding its opponents to a .126 hitting percentage. Leading the way on defense is junior Emily Tate who is averaging 4.60 digs per set, ranking her second in the GSC.

Henderson is led by Tatiana Kuhn who ranks first in the GSC and first in NCAA Division II in kills averaging 4.96 kills per set. The Lady Reddies defense is led by Bethany Wright who is averaging 5.79 digs per set which ranks first in the GSC.
