SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team looks to take home the Gulf South Conference West Division title Tuesday as they host Henderson State at 7 p.m., in the Rhodes Field House. Harding heads into the match with a 25-6 overall record and a 9-1 GSC West Division record.
Harding currently sits in the top spot in the West Division with three teams tied for second. Henderson State, Arkansas Tech and Arkansas Monticello each have a 7-3 record in GSC play. All of the teams will be participating in the GSC tournament in which the winner of the West Division will host.
Henderson State and Harding met earlier this season. The Lady Reddies gave the Lady Bisons their only conference loss on the season, defeating Harding 3-0. Harding leads the series 36-22.
Harding is led by senior Manuela Nesheva who is averaging 4.31 kills per set, ranking her second in the GSC and fifth in the NCAA Division II. Junior Emily Tate continues to lead the Lady Bisons defense averaging 4.68 digs per set, ranking her second in the GSC. Tate currently leads the GSC in service aces per set, averaging 0.52.
The Lady Reddies are led by Tatiana Kuhn who averages 4.94 per set, ranking her first in the GSC. Senior Bethany Wright leads the Henderson State defense averaging 5.88 digs per set, ranking her first in the GSC.
After the match, the Lady Bisons will be recognizing three seniors for their dedication and hard work.
