SEARCY – Harding University senior Manuela Nesheva was named to the ESPN the Magazine College Division Academic All-District VI Volleyball 2nd Team.
Nesheva, a native of Lukovit, Bulgaria, earned her second straight Academic All-District honor. She currently ranks seventh in NCAA Division II with 4.31 kills per set.
A management major with a 3.73 grade point average, Nesheva is one of the most highly decorated volleyball players in program history. She was named All-America in 2007, was the 2008 Gulf South Conference West Division Player of the Year, was two-time 1st Team All-GSC and two-time NCAA All-South Region.
Nesheva is Harding's career leader in kills and service aces. She was the only member of the GSC West Division to earn the Academic All-District honors this season.
The Academic All-District honors are voted on by the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in the states of Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. The College Division is comprised of NCAA II, NCAA III, NAIA and NJCAA schools in those states.
