Volleyball Falls to Missouri S&T, 3-1

ROLLA, Mo. – The Harding volleyball team traveled to Rolla, Mo., Tuesday night to face Missouri S&T. The Lady Miners came out on top, 3-1. The loss moves the Lady Bisons to 3-2 on the season.

Harding struggled in the first set losing 25-17 but bounced back to even the match at one apiece in the second set.  Two pivotal attack errors doomed the Lady Bisons in the third set, falling 25-19. Harding took a quick fourth set lead but the Lady Miners battled back on with two straight kills and then took the lead on two service aces.  Missouri S&T didn't look back, taking set four 25-20.

 Lady Miner, Julie Meyer led both teams picking up a double-double with 17 kills and 10 digs. Missouri S&T had three players in double figure digs. Leading the way was Bridget Williams who had 17.  

The Lady Bisons were led by senior outside hitter Manuela Nesheva who had 14 kills. Sophomore middle blocker Alex Smith had 12 kills on 24 attempts for Harding. Sophomore setter Jessica Heimrich led the Lady Bisons defense with 18 digs.

Harding had 26 attack errors and hit for a .120 percentage in the match.

Harding continues play on the road heading to Denton, Texas to play in the Texas Woman's tournament Friday and Saturday. The Lady Bisons first match is against Southwestern Oklahoma State at 11 a.m., Friday.
