SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team opens Gulf South Conference play on the road Tuesday traveling to Magnolia, Ark., to face Southern Arkansas at 7 p.m. Since joining the NCAA in 2000, The Lady Bisons haven't lost a conference opener. Harding looks to improve on a 12-2 overall record.
The Lady Bisons have the upper hand in the series, leading 32-27. Harding captured both conference wins last season against Southern Arkansas. The Lady Bisons won both matches by a score of 3-1.
Harding is led by senior outside hitter Manuela Nesheva who is averaging 4.39 kills per set ranking her second I the GSC. Nesheva also averages 2.43 digs per set for the Lady Bisons. Junior Emily Tate leads the Lady Bisons defense averaging 4.25 digs per set ranking her fifth in the GSC. Tate is leading the conference in service aces averaging 0.60 aces a set.
Senior outside hitter Danielle Sneed leads Southern Arkansas, averaging 2.75 kills pet set. Junior middle blocker Maggie Glover is close behind averaging 2.22 kills per set. Freshman Crystal Roberts leads the Lady Mulerider defense, averaging 4.27 digs per set.
