SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team looks to extend their winning streak to 12 matches, Tuesday hosting Arkansas Tech in Gulf South Conference action at 7 p.m., in the Rhodes Field House. Harding heads into the match with a 14-2 overall record and a 1-0 GSC West Division record.
Arkansas Tech (11-6, 2-0 GSCW) leads the series 36-30. The Golden Suns defeated the Lady Bisons in both GSC matches last season and went on to win the GSC West Division title. The last time Harding beat Arkansas Tech was in the 2007 season in which the Lady Bisons swept the Golden Suns in both GSC matches.
The Lady Bisons are led by senior outside hitter Manuela Nesheva who is averaging 4.26 kill per set, ranking her second in the GSC and seventh in NCAA Division II. Nesheva also averages 2.33 digs per set for the Lady Bisons.
Junior Emily Tate leads the Harding defense averaging 4.32 digs per set which ranks her third in the GSC. Tate leads the GSC in services per set averaging 0.55 a set.
Arkansas Tech is led by sophomore Laura Farney who averages 3.16 kills per set and 2.74 digs per set. Sophomore Brennae Benda leads the Golden Suns in digs with 3.59 per set.
If the Lady Bisons pick up the win, it will be Head Coach Keith Giboney's 100th win in the Rhodes Field House.
