Volleyball Hosts Alabama-Huntsville and North Alabama this Weekend

SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team takes a break from conference action for the final time this season as they host Gulf South Conference East Division opponents, Alabama-Huntsville on Friday at 7 p.m., and North Alabama on Saturday at 11 a.m., at the Rhodes Field House. The Lady Bisons head into the weekend with a 12-9 overall record.

Alabama-Huntsville (8-17, 2-3 GSC East) currently sits the fourth spot in the GSC East Division. The top four teams from each division go to the conference tournament. The Lady Chargers are led by Carrie Brown who averages 2.26 kills per set. UAH's defense is led by Kaeli McCaghren who averages 3.51 digs per set.

North Alabama (14-7, 4-1 GSC East) is currently in a three-way tie for first place in the GSC East Division. They share first place with No. 25 West Florida and Valdosta State. The winner of the GSC East Division will host the conference tournament Nov. 12-13. The Lions have four players that average over two kills per set, leading the way is Sarah Roberts who averages 3.75 kills per set, ranking third in the GSC. Lauren Greenhill leads the North Alabama defense, averaging 4.94 digs per set, ranking fourth in the GSC.

Harding is currently in second place in the GSC West Division with a 6-2 mark. The Lady Bisons are led by freshman outside hitter Mollie Arnold who averages 3.89 kills per set, ranking her second in the GSC. The Harding defense is led by senior defensive specialist Emily Tate who averages 5.12 digs per set, ranking her third in the GSC.

Before the match on Friday, Ouachita Baptist will face Alabama-Huntsville at 5 p.m.
