SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team takes the court Tuesday as they host Christian Brothers in Gulf South Conference action at 7 p.m., in the Rhodes Field House. The Lady Bisons look to improve on a 13-10 overall record and a 6-2 GSC West Division record.
Even though Harding lost to Arkansas Tech last Thursday they still clinched a GSC Tournament spot. The Lady Bisons can still finish at any of the top four seeds; currently Harding is in third place. Christian Brothers and Arkansas Tech each have an 8-1 conference record tying them for first place. Christian Brothers will host Arkansas Tech on Thursday.
Harding is led by freshman outside hitter Mollie Arnold who averages 3.88 kills per set, ranking her second in the GSC and 20th in all of Division II. Senior defensive specialist Emily Tate leads the Lady Bisons on defense averaging 5.16 digs per set, ranking her third in the GSC and 30th in Division II.
As a team, Harding ranks second in the GSC and 14th in Division II in digs per set with an average of 17.52.
Christian Brothers (16-10) has three players that average over two kills per set. Hailey Gillis leads the way, averaging 2.33 kills per set. Corinne Doder leads the Lady Bucs defense, averaging 4.66 digs per set.
Earlier this season Harding gave Christian Brothers their only conference loss as they defeated the Lady Bucs 3-0 in Memphis. The Lady Bisons lead the series, 40-13.
