SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team continues Gulf South Conference action on the road Thursday as they travel to Monticello, Ark., to face Arkansas-Monticello at 7 p.m. The Lady Bisons head into the match with a 14-10 overall record and a 7-2 GSC West Division record.
Harding has already wrapped up a trip to the GSC Tournament on Nov. 12-13 but they are still fighting for what seed they will have. Currently the Lady Bisons are tied with Christian Brothers for second place in the west division.
Freshman outside hitter Mollie Arnold leads Harding averaging 3.94 kills per set, ranking her second in the GSC and 24th in Division II. Senior defensive specialist Emily Tate leads the Lady Bisons defense averaging 5.18 digs per set ranking her third in the GSC and 27th in Division II.
As a team, Harding ranks second in the GSC and 21st in Division II in digs per set with a 17.64 average.
Arkansas-Monticello (2-24, 0-9 GSC West Division) is led by Monica Perkins-Miller who averages 2.51 kills per set. Stephanie Hatten leads the Cotton Blossoms defense, averaging 4.78 digs per set.
When the two teams met earlier this season in Searcy, Harding walked away with a 3-0 victory.
