Volleyball Defeats Arkansas-Monticello 3-0 on Thursday

MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Harding volleyball team defeated Arkansas-Monticello 3-0 on Thursday in Gulf South Conference action. The Lady Bisons improve to 15-10 on the season and 8-2 in the GSC West Division.

Arkansas Tech defeated Christian Brothers also on Thursday to give Harding sole possession of second place in the GSC West Division. With the win, the Golden Suns stay in first pace in the West division. Arkansas Tech has two conference matches left and Christian Brothers has one conference match left before the GSC Tournament on Nov. 12-13.

Freshman outside hitter Mollie Arnold led Harding on the night with 15 kills, she also had 13 digs for the Lady Bisons. Sophomore outside hitter Bailee Graham had a career-high 13 kills and senior middle blocker Samantha Anderson added 10 kills for Harding.

Sophomore setter Amber Schinzing captured a double-double in the match with 43 assists and 12 digs.

The Lady Bisons defense was led by senior defensive specialist Emily Tate who had 16 digs for Harding. Junior defensive specialist Amber Parker added 15 for Harding.

Arkansas-Monticello (2-25 overall and 0-10 GSC West Division) was led by Bailie Jedlicka who had 10 kills. The Cotton Blossoms defense was led by Stephanie Hatton who had 21 digs.

The Harding defense held Arkansas-Monticello to 36 kills on 143 attempts with 25 errors for a .077 hitting percentage.

The Lady Bisons will be back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 2 as they travel to Arkadelphia, Ark., to face Henderson State at 7 p.m., GSC action.
