SEARCY – Junior forward Chelsea Brandon knocked in a 30-yard shot with less than two minutes remaining in overtime to lift the Harding women's soccer team over Ouachita Baptist Friday night in Gulf South Conference action 1-0. The Lady Bisons improve to 8-8-1 on the season and 4-2-0 in the GSC.

Brandon received a drop back pass from senior midfielder Brianna Meek in the middle of the field. Brandon's kick was a high arching ball that fell just over the Ouachita Baptist goalkeepers fingers. It was her the third time in her career that she has had a game-winning goal.

Harding tried to rally before the end of regulation when senior defender Hayley Withrow sent a cross to Paola Eusse in the 80th minute. Eusse got her head on the ball but the Lady Tigers goalkeeper Whitley Hoppe was there for the save.

Ouachita Baptist outshot Harding 11-8 in the game.

Before the game, Harding recognized nine Lady Bison seniors for their contribution to the Harding soccer program: goalkeeper Hannah Douglas, goalkeeper Chelsea Hornbeck, defender Withrow, forward Meghan Przeczewski, defender Shayna Nail, midfielder Meek, midfielder Hagen Atkins and midfielder Sabrina Burch.

The Lady Bisons will be back in action next Tuesday, Nov. 2 in Memphis, Tenn., as they take on Christian Brothers in the final GSC game. Harding has already wrapped up a spot in the conference tournament on Nov. 5-6 in Pensacola, Fla., but is still looking for what seed they will have.
