Women’s Soccer Plays Two Games this Weekend

SEARCY – The Harding women's soccer team will play a pair of games this weekend, traveling to Commerce, Texas to face Texas A&M-Commerce at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and then the Lady Bisons will take on Faulkner in Searcy on Sunday at 1 p.m. Harding heads into the weekend with a 1-2-1 overall record.

On Friday, the Lady Bisons will take on a 2-1 Texas AM-Commerce team. The Lions are a NCAA Division II member of the Lone Star Conference. They started out 2-0 after defeating Tusculum and Newman. Their only loss came against Dallas Baptist on Tuesday. The Lions are led by Elle DeFreitas and Tareyn Blanton who each have a goal this season.

After a four game road trip, Harding plays their second home game as they take on Faulkner on Sunday. The Eagles are a NAIA member from Montgomery, Ala. They head into the weekend with a 6-1 record. The Eagles only loss came against NCAA Division I opponent Alabama State, 1-0. Faulkner has defeated two NCAA Division II opponents, fellow Gulf South Conference member Delta State 2-1 and former GSC member Montevallo, 1-0 in 2OT. Faulkner is led by junior forward Latoya Panton who has seven goals and one assist this season. The Eagles are coached by former Harding men's soccer standout Jeff Ireland (2001-02).

Harding is led by junior forward Paola Eusse who had two goals on the season. Fellow forward Adriana Lucar leads the Lady Bisons in assists with two.
